ABOUT US
Pliant is a modular B2B payments platform that combines commercial card issuing, payment accounts, FX, and spend management in one system — adapting to existing setups rather than requiring customers to replace them.
Businesses across industries such as travel, e-commerce, and insurance use Pliant to manage complex payment workflows with cards, backed by credit lines Pliant underwrites itself.
Fintechs and software platforms embed Pliant's payment infrastructure into their own products, from API-based Cards-as-a-Service to fully white-label solutions. Banks use Pliant's Card & Spend OS, the customer-facing interface, on their own infrastructure to run card programs.
Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Berlin, Pliant serves 5,000+ businesses and 40+ partners across Europe and the United States. A principal member of Visa and Mastercard, Pliant issues commercial cards in 13 currencies across 32 countries — under its own European e-money license and with licensed partners in the UK and US.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Solutions Engineer remote (m/f/d), you’ll be a key technical consultant and enabler for our customers and partners, helping them successfully adopt and scale Pliant’s platform. You will work with an ambitious team of Solutions Engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Partnerships, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to deliver smooth onboarding, strong integrations, and high-quality technical guidance.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role: you’ll lead integrations, answer technical questions in pre-sales and post-sales contexts, enable customers to use our public APIs (Pro API and CaaS), and ensure feedback from the field is translated into actionable product and documentation improvements.
This role is Remote with needing this person to be based and working on the EST timezone.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own technical onboarding & integrations: Plan and drive customer/partner onboarding, integration timelines, and go-live readiness for API-based setups.
Support Sales & Partnerships (pre-sales): Handle technical discovery, solution design, demos, RFP/questionnaires, and proof-of-concepts for enterprise opportunities and partners.
Be the integration “problem solver” during the onboarding (post-sales): Troubleshoot integration challenges, reproduce problems, propose workarounds, and coordinate with Product/Engineering to resolve blockers quickly.
Enable and train developers & operators: Run workshops and training sessions, help customers build confidently on our APIs with best practices, examples, and clear guidance.
Build reusable assets: Collaborate with our technical writer to produce and maintain reference architectures, integration playbooks, checklists, and internal enablement material to improve consistency and speed across implementations.
Bring customer feedback into the product loop: Capture structured feedback, identify recurring pain points, and help translate field insights into product and documentation improvements.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
5+ years of relevant experience in solutions engineering/architecture, sales engineering, or technical consulting.
Strong technical experience with APIs and integrations (REST, JSON, webhooks, authentication concepts like OAuth/API keys, Postman/cURL).
Comfortable with one programming language (e.g., TypeScript, Python, Java) to build lightweight prototypes, integration validation, and test workarounds with REST APIs.
Strong communication skills across demos, solution design, and technical enablement with both engineers and business stakeholders.
High-ownership, service-oriented mindset, comfortable driving end-to-end solutions, unblocking others, and systematizing learnings into repeatable assets.
Experience building repeatable processes (intake, triage, enablement assets) to scale our services across many stakeholders.
Experience owning complex customer/partner integrations end-to-end, coordinating multiple stakeholders and driving timelines to completion.
Fluent in English
Bonus points
Fintech/payments/cards experience
Experience with ERP or accounting integrations (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, DATEV, Xero, QuickBooks) and related data flows (accounting reconciliation, exports, etc.).
Other European languages are a plus.
